Copper Beech

Fagus sylvatica 'Atropunicea'

This deciduous tree can grow to 40 metres and is usually found in parks and gardens. Has dark brown twigs and purple-black leaves as viewed from above. Fairly smooth silver-grey bark. It is an ornamental variety of the Beech tree Fagus sylvatica.
