| % cover is the mean area
inside 10 quadrats of 2m2 covered by the species. It is a measure of the amount of space
occupied by the species. % frequency is the % of quadrats in which the species was found. For example a % frequency of 100 means that the species occurred in all quadrats sampled. A % frequency of 10, means that it was found in only 1 out of 10 quadrats. This is therefore a measure of how widespread the species is. |
