On National Moth Night 2003, 18
species were represented in the 130 Moths which were trapped. The commonest being Brindled
Pug (30 indviduals). The most notable being a Yellow Horned. Also one indiviual of:-
Dotted Border, Yellow-barred Brindle, Oak Beauty and March Moth. The latter being a rather
late record.
Three moth traps were positioned at the Woodland
Education Centre in the vicinity of the log cabin classroom. Map here. Equipment which
was used comprised two 125W Robinson MV traps and one Actinic. You can find out more about

The conditions were: Still, cloudy.
Temperature approximately 9°C @ 21.00hrs (BST)
8°C @ 22.00hrs (BST). 7°C @ 23.35hrs (BST)
Moths are listed in the order they were caught. The
traps were also inspected the next day.
