Medieval Mill Site
![mill_site.jpg (74228 bytes)](images/mill_site.jpg) |
Believed to be the location of a medieval mill site. No trace of
the mill remains, but it was situated on a springline and the stream which may have been
used to power it still flows into a steep sided depression. The mill was probably
small enough to be operated by one person and would have been used to grind corn into
flour for the inhabitants of the nearby hamlet. There is evidence that at one time two
small leats served the mill. |
