A bat survey was carried out by Fiona Mathews (left) in July and September. Here Fiona is showing volunteers a bat that had been caught in the mist nets.  The survey was carried out in conjunction with the East Devon AONB Greater Horseshoe bat project. A moth event was led by Dr.Barry Henwood of the Devon Moth group in June, it was a cold night and so not a great many species were flying.

A Butterfly transect has also been carried out by volunteers from Offwell village, and bird records are taken every month by Rosemary Tilbury who also lives in the village.

Rosemary also records many other species as well, including the rare Ruddy Darter, a species of dragonfly known to breed at only 2 other sites in Devon.
