Introduction
Steep Southern Area
| The southern boundary of this small
carr is a steep slope joining the southern ends of both the Leat Footpath and the Boggy Path. Just below this end of the Leat footpath is a large beech tree (Fagus sylvatica). The slope is dominated by well-established brambles, with many tree seedlings emerging through the brambles and near the bottom of the slope is a large Scots Pine (Pinus sylvestris). There are also many tree stumps in various stages of decay, some with bracket fungi, others with mosses.
